Day 28: DarsanofParvati

Portrait of a good friend. Much like me, she’s a camera person, a little more arty, I think, and less interested in the technical aspects than I am.

She looks good in black & white, and I had a really hard time choosing a picture. Having her face obscured by the camera may seem counter-productive in a portrait, but it works, and you can see expression in her face despite that big, black, lump of metal, glass and plastic being in the way. Her fingers are important in the shot too, she wraps them around the camera and grips it solidly. Part of that is the lens, the lensbaby 2.0, that she favors for the soft-focus, but she pulls the camera close to herself when she shoots.
